  • Infrared is a longer wavelength of light that is invisible to the eye. The way we notice infrared light waves is thru feeling it as heat. The best example of this is when it is a cold day, but you feel warm standing in the sunlight… you are being warmed by infrared rays from the sun. Infrared wavelengths are gentle on your skin and body, as opposed to the shorter wavelength and potentially harmful UV rays.

  • If you’re looking to “Get your bronze on,” it won’t happen in your Jacuzzi® sauna… Infrared & Red Light wavelengths do not cause tanning. Tanning is caused by the more harmful UV rays (the same culprit that gives you a sunburn).

However, the combination of Red Light & Infrared light cause the skin to appear healthier and glowing. Remember to stay hydrated!

  • It’s not just A red light, it’s THE red light. Red comes in many shades that we can see, but the light emitted as Red Light Therapy is a Deep Red wavelength that actually activates the mitochondria in your skin cells, giving them energy to rejuvenate and regenerate. A good way to see the different wavelengths of red against each other is to turn on the Red Light Therapy light in a Jacuzzi® Sauna or Hot Tub (Yes! They even put it in a hot tub!), and then turn on the standard red LED lights on the same device. There is a clear visual difference in the depth of red emanating from the Red Light Therapy lights.

  • Yes! In fact, we encourage it! The Jacuzzi® Infrared Sauna comes with an outstanding sound system that connects via Bluetooth or USB, giving the sauna user “Vibration Resonance Therapy” (VRT), which are microvibrations sent thru the seat of the sauna from the music you’re playing. This can help loosen up your lower back and improve your range of motion. It’s like having a private concert in the sauna!

  • Jacuzzi® Infrared Saunas don’t need steam, as they heat you directly thru the infrared waves. This makes use, cleaning, and maintenance much easier than the traditional steam saunas. The only thing steaming in a Jacuzzi® Sauna is you!

  • The Jacuzzi® Sauna can be set as high as 170°F, though you won’t need it to get that hot to feel the full effects. We believe 150°F-155°F is an ideal temperature range that will give you the full benefits without reaching the peak temperature.

  • The Jacuzzi® Sauna generally takes 20-30 minutes to heat from room temperature. To make sure your sauna heats up quickly, make sure to close the overhead vent, to retain the heat building up inside the sauna.

  • The recommended session time for Infrared & Red Light Therapy is about 20 minutes per session, although as your body gets used to sauna sessions, extending it to 30 minutes is completely fine. We recommend using the sauna 3-5 times a week to feel the full benefits.

  • What electrical will be needed depends on the model you select.

    The JS-2i™ 2-person model requires a 20A/240V outlet.

    The JS-3i™ 3-person model requires a 20A/240V outlet.

  • Currently, Jacuzzi® Saunas are suited for indoor installations, such as in a home gym or garage. Incorporating a sauna into a bathroom remodel would also be an outstanding location!

In short, any indoor location that’s private (where you don’t mind stepping out sweaty) will work!

But do check back with us… there’s rumors of an upcoming outdoor model possibly on the horizon!
